How do I use image rotation?f
As of August 2021, all contributors, current and future catalogers and Forum Admins can rotate images in 90-degree increments to select the orientation of media.
When you have rotated the desired image, save the file. Once saved, the image will then display with the revised orientation. The edited record must be published (or republished) before it will display with the revised orientation on the respective publishing target destinations (JSTOR, Artstor, etc.)
What file formats are supported?
Image rotation supports the following file formats:
- JPEG files (.jpg, .jpeg, .jp2, .jpx)
- PNG
This means that the Rotate Image feature will not be available when viewing items of other file types, such as .TIF or .pdf.
Will Image Rotation Impact My Ability to Download Media?
Rotating an image does not affect your ability to download the original image file. When you select “Download Media” from the Media drop-down menu, the original image (before rotation) will be downloaded.
