You can use Google to find more information about images in your project directly from JSTOR Digital Stewardship Services. This can be helpful when cataloging, for example, for finding a different view of the place or object, a higher-resolution image, or metadata from matching images.
Google will return like-images based on the uploaded image in your item record. This function works for image file types only (PNG, JPEG, TIFF, JP2, GIF) and will appear grayed out for all other file types.
To search an image in your project in Google:
- In your project, double-click an item to edit it or select an item then select Edit.
- Open the item options drop-down menu after the item name and select Search in Google.
A new browser tab will open to a Google search results page, displaying the results of the search based on similarity and relevance to the image from the item record.
