1 - In Forum, assigning a Resource Type that corresponds to a different Content Type will change the JSTOR viewer and download format accordingly.

2 - Applicable only if downloads are enabled via your collection page (Collection Loader) or publishing target (JSTOR Forum).

3 - When publishing to JSTOR Shared Collections, PDF, JPEG, and TIFF files will have optical character recognition (OCR) enabled to allow full-text search for the item.

4 - Where JPEG "ProjectionType" is "equirectangular".

Audio and video

You can upload audio and/or video files to your collections if your institution licenses Audio and/or Video services. For questions about your institution's current licenses, ask your administrator or contact Support.

1 - Applicable only if downloads are enabled via your collection page (Collection Loader) or publishing target (JSTOR Forum).

Note: Audio files over 2GB and video files with audio tracks over 2GB will not be automatically transcribed; however, you can provide a transcript after uploading.

File Size Recommendations

While there is no limit to size of files that can be uploaded, upload size may be limited by your browser and we recommend keeping individual files under 3GB and batch uploads under 20GB.

Please note if your upload takes more than 10 minutes the system may time out.
