Tips for reporting an issue

For the fastest possible resolution, please be as specific as you can and feel free to include source information such as screenshots, metadata spreadsheets, or example media files. (If you’re not sure whether to include an attachment or require assistance obtaining this information, please contact us for additional options.)

For any issue, it’s helpful to provide the following information:

  • Your operating system and version (ex. Windows 11, MacOS 15)
  • Your browser and version (ex. Google Chrome 135, Mozilla Firefox 137, Safari 18)
  • Project or collection name and ID (can be found in the address bar when viewing a project/collection)
  • Example SSIDs of impacted items
  • Screenshots of errors, if applicable
  • Description of the steps you took when encountering the issue

For publishing issues, it’s helpful to provide:

  • Publishing location and type (ex. institutional or open collection on JSTOR, publishing to Omeka, etc.)
  • Collection name (for Tiers 2-3 this may be different than your project name)
  • Date and time of publishing
  • Number of items published

Disable browser extensions

If you’re experiencing an issue in one browser or computer but not another, you may have one or more browser extensions enabled that are blocking necessary content.

Here are instructions for checking your enabled browser extensions:

  • Chrome - Input chrome://extensions in your browser’s address bar.
  • Firefox - Input about:addons in your browser’s address bar.
  • Safari - Go to Safari > Settings > Extensions
