JSTOR Seeklight enables you to generate metadata at scale, reducing your manual effort while letting you maintain full control and oversight of your cataloging.
Follow these three easy steps to start generating, reviewing, and editing metadata for your collections.
Step 1: Upload your media files.
- On the Home page, select the Upload media & generate metadata with JSTOR AI link.
- Select the files you want to want to upload and optionally provide additional context to help the generation process. See JSTOR Seeklight: Overview to learn more.
Step 2: Name your project and generate metadata.
- Upload your media files and choose whether to create a new project or add your generated metadata to an existing AI-compatible project.
- Your metadata generation job will run and you'll be automatically taken to your project’s Activity Monitor where you can view the current status of your metadata generation.
- Once your metadata has successfully generated, you can view and edit your items from the Metadata Records tab of your project page.
Step 3: Review, edit, and share your metadata.
- All generated metadata will have the "AI-Generated" tag applied. When you mark an item as reviewed, the "Reviewed" tag will be applied. Once you edit any item field, the "Edited" tag will be applied. See JSTOR Seeklight: Generating, reviewing, and editing metadata to learn more.
- On the Project Summary tab, you can generate a high-level summary of all of the items in your project with JSTOR Seeklight. See JSTOR Seeklight: Overview to learn more.
- You can also download a spreadsheet of your metadata to edit in bulk by selecting one or more of your metadata records, opening the three-dot overflow menu, and then selecting Download Metadata.
