Publishing a collection
When you're ready to publish your collection to JSTOR, you can do so from the Collections page. By default, all metadata records will be published or re-published when publishing a collection; however, media files will only be published if they are new or have been edited since the last time the collection was published.
To publish a collection:
- Log into JSTOR Digital Stewardship Services and choose the Collections link.
- On the Collections page, click the Publish button for the collection you wish to publish.
Publishing an item
You may wish to publish an individual item in a collection after editing it, when adding items to your collection, or in the event an item failed to publish when publishing a collection.
At this time, please note it's not possible to publish multiple selected items from a collection in bulk in Tier 1.
To publish an individual item in a collection:
- Log into JSTOR Digital Stewardship Services and choose the Collections link.
- On the Collections page, choose your collection and then the item you wish to publish.
- On the item page, click the Publish button that appears before the item preview.
Publishing status and errors
You can see the status of in-progress and past publish operations on the Status page.
To view publishing status:
- Log into JSTOR Digital Stewardship Services and choose the Status link.
- On the Status page, if you have multiple collections, information for your most recently-added collection will be displayed first.
- Use the drop-down on the Status page to select your collection.
- You can also type into the text field to filter the list of collections in the drop-down.
- Publish operations for a collection will be listed in order of date from most to least recent. You can click on any date to see:
- a list of files in the collection
- publishing status for each file
- any associated error messages
