Publishing a collection
When you're ready to publish your collection to JSTOR, you can do so from the Collections page.
To publish a collection:
- Log into the Collection Loader and choose the Collections link.
- On the Collections page, click the Publish button after the collection you wish to publish.
Note - Although the Status page may list all items in a collection as successfully "Published", please note that it may take up to 24 hours for your collection or changes to it to appear on JSTOR.
Publishing an item
You may wish to publish an individual item in a collection after editing it, when adding items to your collection, or in the event an item failed to publish when publishing a collection.
At this time, please note it's not possible to publish multiple selected items from a collection in bulk in the Collection Loader.
To publish an individual item in a collection:
- Log into the Collection Loader and choose the Collections link.
- On the Collections page, choose your collection and then the item you wish to publish.
- On the item page, click the Publish button that appears before the item preview.

Publishing status and errors
You can see the status of in-progress and past publish operations on the Status page in the Collection Loader.
To view publishing status:
- Log into the Collection Loader and choose the Status link.
- On the Status page, if you have multiple collections, information for your most recently-added collection will be displayed first.
- Use the drop-down on the Status page to select your collection.
- You can also type into the text field to filter the list of collections in the drop-down.
- Publish operations for a collection will be listed in order of date from most to least recent. You can click on any date to see:
- a list of files in the collection
- publishing status for each file
- any associated error messages
